Amy
Watmore

My experience, knowledge and skills in business administration has been acquired over many years working in businesses in both the Private and Public sectors.

In my most recent project I have been  responsible for an educational office start up adhering to many regulations and government checks. That office is now fully up and running. During this project I continued working for my private sector clients.

My experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, PA and Secretarial services serves me well as do my ILM and ATT financial  qualifications and I am a  Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor.

I use my skills and experience to provide a service of the highest quality to all my clients.

As the oldest member of the Your Business Matters team I gained my first business experience in the Purchasing and Supply Authority of the NHS where I worked for over a decade.  I then formed my own service business, building it in 13 years from a small Limited Company to a Plc - eventually arranging a management buyout to return it to private ownership.

When the business was later sold  to a well known national service company, I decided it was time to once again work with smaller, more responsive businesses.

Having known Amy as a previous business colleague, I was delighted when she asked me to join her team. At YBM I tend to get involved in the business development and the project management aspects of our work.

Although my qualifications in Purchasing & Logistics, Marketing and  Management are now more than a few years old my experience and enthusiasm continue to grow.

My working background can be summed up in one word: Administration, but that belies the range of work I have been involved in over the years and the experience I have derived from it. I have run offices, events, projects and systems, of all sizes and types for many different organisations - both public and private.

I enjoy shaping whatever I do into a seamless and efficient operation, at which point I am ready to move onto the next challenge. I also produce a mean spreadsheet and set of documentation.

My work with YBM tends to focus on getting the systems in place for our clients as fast but unobtrusively as possible so they can get on with their job of serving their clients.

It gives me a tremendous amount of satisfaction to know that working as part of the YBM team, I have been instrumental in helping many a good business onto greater success.

My professional career, backed by years of experience has been in customer service and operational management.

My attitude is always to get the job done properly and professionally and see it through to the end. Satisfied customers are returning customers.

In recent years I have run my own successful business and nowadays as well as being part of YBM, I am a part-time Trustee and Treasurer of a charitable organisation.

I believe that my efficient and professional approach to work gives YBM clients the confidence to know that their business requirements are in safe hands.

As the newest and youngest member of YBM I am eager to prove myself and put into use my skills and continue to build on my experiences from working with other small businesses. As AAT level 3 qualified and AATQB registered I am confident that I can help the team with all bookkeeping matters.

My work with YBM tends to focus on bookkeeping mainly working on clients’ expenses and VAT returns ensuring that all information is correct and completed in time of any deadlines.

I believe my up to date knowledge of AAT and the accounting world will help clients feel their VAT returns and other financial requirements will be sorted by the YBM team promptly and correctly.

My background is working for well-known National Newspapers in an Administration roles.  Working in a Legal Department made me realise how my excellent organisational skills could be utilised and gave me a strong work ethic which has carried me forward to administration roles within Estate Agents, local newspapers and Financial Advisors.

I am a people person and love the hands on way of working.  Of starting something and making sure it is done 100% to my ability.  I love the challenge of creating something professional out of something disorganised. I can turn my hand to a variety of tasks.  “Organised” should be my middle name.

I am delighted to be working for Your Business Matters as it gives me the opportunity to show my skills and gives me satisfaction to know that I have done a job efficiently and properly.

I have always been very career driven, I started at the bottom doing basic administration tasks. I then moved my career into the customer service field, I become a customer service face to face manager for a local government office. I climbed the ladder more and become the customer service manager – which involved organising and prioritising the workloads for myself and all staff to ensure we would hit all our Kpi’s. I would carry out Monthly and yearly PDR’s, organise all travel and accommodation for all staff and ensure the daily accounts were processed.

I then decided to follow my passion of numbers, and change my career path. I started working for an accountant as his assistant and book keeper. I have been trained and passed exams in Sage 50 accounts as well as Sage payroll level 1 & 2 along with a book keeping course. I have a keen eye for detail and flair for accounts. I work hard and always strive to get the job done accurately and efficiently.

I look to in the future becoming more qualified in the accounts industry.
Amy is a great ambassador for 'Your Business Matters' - Very professional and offered a genuine contribution to the development of my business. Definitely my preferred choice for administrative support.
